BISHOP’S RACE 2023

My name is Raissa Bugyi, I grew up in Treaty 4 territory, Wishart, Saskatchewan and currently reside in Saskatoon, Treaty 6 territory. I’m the Executive Director at the Catholic Foundation. Being active has been part of my entire life and I starting skating at the age of 2. This is my first Death race Challenge and I’m excited to be a part of an amazing team and running to raise funds for our diocesan TRC goal. Please support!

My name is Jonathan Fineday, I’m from Sweetgrass First Nation in Saskatchewan (Treaty 6 Territory), but I live and work in Saskatoon, SK. I’ve been active pretty much my entire life playing hockey, ball, and soccer. I’m also an avid Cross Fitter, attending classes pretty much every day of the week. I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead and am excited to take part in the relay event this year. This will be my first-time taking part in a race such as this.

My name is Daniel Albert. I have been active my entire life, playing a lot of soccer, doing plenty of Olympic Weightlifting, and CrossFit as well. I am from Sweetgrass First Nation (Treaty Six Territory), and currently live in North Battleford. I did run a couple of ultra marathons before this, but nothing like the Death Race.

My name is Hiroshige(Hiro) Watanabe. I was born and rised in Japan and moved to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1999, Treaty 6 territory. I met Myron Rogal when we both were assistants at L’arche Edmonton. I have been participating in the Canadian Death Race since 2004 and completed it solo (it was 125km, 118km now) 14 times. This is my first time to join the relay team !!”
